James Deans bio

Born in 1976 in the rural area of Merced, California, “the gateway to Yosemite”, James Deans was born in a perfect area for the development of a philosophical and spiritual perception of day to day life.  He was raised by parents who grew up in the 60’s era. His mother was an artist and his father was a craftsman.  James was encouraged from a young age to be himself and to find his true calling. Initially, James loved the world of sports and had dreams of becoming a professional baseball player. However, a psychedelic experience when he was 19 years old propelled him into the world of spirituality, music and philosophy.  

He began to dive into Hip Hop Kulture in the early 90’s. The Art of Freestyling came natural to him and opened him to the existence of there being something larger than him that was assisting him with this new found expression. 27 years later and James has become a true master Freestyler, producer, and audio engineer. To James, hip hop music vehicle for spiritual awakening in our times.

During his early exposure to hip hop, James was also introduced to meditation through the way of the Tao. While he was not an avid reader in his early life, his spiritual awakening inspired him to seek knowledge and truth about life and he began studying many different philosophies from different parts of the world 

Through his studies, it became clear to him that Ultimate Truth of Reality is a synthesis of  the philosophies of the world.  Such a view, creates a unified perception of our mission here on Earth together 

James’ life is a true example of learning from all experiences and synthesizing the search for the deeper meaning in things / the intention realm behind what we see / the subtle energy level of life / psychic energy- for the source of all things .. something common to all - yet unique to each experience. A perfect Paradox. 

James  was greatly inspired by his uncle James Wood of Los Angeles, California who was a life long student of philosophy, yoga teacher and highly respected community developer who said, “you’ll begin to know yourself from your reflection in others faces“.

Many people are not experiencing their bliss as they are not living in alignment with the universal and spiritual laws of this Life we Live - either from not remembering or not being taught.  There have been millions of humans who have come before us and studied this same great experience . I believe it’s easier than we know to find this illustrious peace, as we all attempt to return to living with Love as our leader - The Heart’s Way” - James Deans James and his wife have two amazing daughters and  live in Phoenix, Oregon. He is owner of Yoga For Your Ears LLC, an independent record label and recording studio, as well as Sacred Design Counseling, offering spiritual and philosophical counseling, human design readings and  meditation lessons.

Señor Gigio is a celebrated independent Hip Hop artist (Supa Emcee / Singer / Cartoonist) based in the Bay Area. He is known for being prolific, having released over 20 projects since 2006. He has collaborated with hip hop veterans locally, throughout the states & internationally. His music is inspirational, eclectic & masterful, with a knack for storytelling, abstract concepts & catchy hooks. His sound continues to grow & evolve as he steps into the forefront as a Singer, expanding his musical horizons in tandem with his supernatural Emceeing abilities. Whether it be through rapping highly-technical yet funky dope flows, crooning bluesy soul ballads or experimenting with bold alternative sounds, Señor Gigio doses his audience with the pure magic that life itself is made of.

Señor Gigio has toured his music independently throughout California, Oregon, Washington, New Mexico & even internationally in Canada & Japan. Locally, he has woven himself into the fabric of the Bay Area music scene & community, becoming a fixture in his own right. Today, he continues to broaden his horizons, finding inspiration, directing music videos, drawing funkadelic-style art, creating & releasing new albums. In 2018, he even released his very first comic book which he illustrated & wrote himself. Señor Gigio also follows his calling to be a Spiritual Guide to those in need. You just might find him doing Tarot readings on Telegraph in Berkeley. Most recently, in June 2022, he embarks on a new chapter as a creator having released his new album "Funklore" alonside his comic book "Super Psychic Kitty Meets the Mummified Pharaoh" with a slew of a groundbreaking animated music videos.

Señor Gigio is a Psychic and Tarot reader and a very talented musician and expresses so much through his comic books and music videos as a cartoonist and brilliant lyricist.  His videos are very activating, amazing and inspiring with some fabulous collaborations.   Him and James have recently joined forces.  He has a very heightened psychic and intuitive ability and at a recent conference I saw him give very profound and in depth TAROT readings, offering very valuable insight and clarity for people.  High integrity and a true visionary, he is strongly guided by his dreams which give him very important messages and guidance.
